Hours vary to provide maximum coverage for patients. The Javier Villanueva Troop Medical Clinic is named after Specialist Javier A. Villanueva of Temple, Texas. Villanueva joined the Army Sept. 16, 2003, and served as a medical specialist stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, at Fort. Sam Houston in San Antonio Texas and at Fort Irwin in California. Specialist Villanueva was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Irwin, when he died on Nov. 24, 2005 in Asad, Iraq, of injuries sustained the previous day, Nov. 23, when he was killed in action by an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol during combat operations in Hit, Iraq.
