Ellen-Mai contributed that these cement trains "used to go to Cement factory at Carnlough Road, Cabra West, Dublin 7. The tracks ran under Cabra Road", and Flying Snail confirmed that Cabra "was the main terminal for bulk cement in Dublin. They would travel via the tunnel under Phoenix Park having diverged from the Cork line at Islandbridge Jct." Thanks for a countrywide perspective on bulk cement depots from david.geraghty: "Cabra was a storage depot (road tankers would be filled here for local delivery to concrete plants etc) that was served by the factory at Platin. Athy was served by the factory at Limerick until March 2005. Athy is the Tegral roof tile factory, it used a special type of cement. Other bulk depots around the country were; Cork, Athenry, Sligo, Tullamore & Belfast. Sadly no more."
