| Keywords: island-park islandpark One of my favorite stomping grounds. Not a park, it's a town with the longest main street in America, 33 miles long. There are small parks, State and private, in the area and Yellowstone is 13 miles away from its northern most end. This view is of Montana & Wyoming, in the distance, and Island Park Idaho, there, on the valley floor. Viewpoint is from Sawtelle Mountain at 10,000 feet, looking east towards and into Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks to the mountains in the distance. I prefer staying in Island Park as the National Parks are so over crowded. Hardly driving room on the roads much less walking room at the sights, although I do go to them often enough but not every time. There's plenty of sights and adventure in Island Park.
