Of all the transitions between season, it is spring to summer that seams to be the most blurred. When does spring end and summer begin? The calendar marks the start of summer on the summer equinox (this year on June 21 at 16:28 UTC). For many, summer begins the day after the last day of school. However, for most (at least non students) summer is more a feel of the outdoors that includes weather (mostly temperature) and the state of plant life. It is difficult to tell if summer has started or it is still spring. The grass is green, the flowers are blooming, the days are warm. However, the nights are often very cool, almost freezing and the kids are still in school (at least the younger kids). Vacation season has not yet started. Is it spring or is it summer? Does it matter? I say no. Just go outside and enjoy the days while one can! Today, the neighborhood kids gathered in the backyard for some outdoor fun.
