Up until today I did not know the location of the photos or the reason they were of special interest to have been taken, but my research has discovered that the photos are in an envelope marked "Gullett at Upper Burnett" within the Mobsby Collection at the Fryer Library. www.library.uq.edu.au/fryer/ms/uqfl181.pdf The Burnett is a river in Queensland and some of it is known as the Upper Burnett region. I found this Queensland Parliamentary Debate transcript for the Legislative Assembly on 9 August 1921, and within the transcript it mentions the Federal Government sending Mr. Gullett (an Australian war correspondent, journalist and director of the Australian War Memorial) to research the Upper Burnett lands with a view to the area becoming a settlement for returned soldiers from WW1. www.parliament.qld.gov.au/documents/hansard/1921/1921_08_...
