This useful public work cost aljout £400sterling, and was executed at the expense of the lorpora-tion. Falkland lias a post office under Ladybank, withmoney order, savings bank, and telegraph departments,a branch office of the British Linen Comiiany Hank, 3insuiance agencies, 2 hotels, gas-works, and a masoniclodge. The town-house, which is ornamented with aspire, was erected in 1802, and contains a hall in whichthe burgh courts and the meetings of the town-councilare held ; its lower story, occupied now by a drapersshop, served originally as a lock-up house. The parishchurch, built in 1849, by the late 0. T. Bruce, E.sq., ata cost of £7000, is a handsome Gothic edifice, with afine siiire and 900 sittings.
