Courses in etching and multi-plate or color-etching were given by Professor Swietlan Kraczyna. Professor Dennis Olsen gave access to a litho press and stones to make a series of lithos in a time set of about 2 years. But etching was her final choice in printmaking, which she started in 1968/69 and practiced almost daily until 1990. A pupil again... she already painted PAYED portraits at the age of 18 and only then won a scholarship and lessons paid by the Dutch Government for the Royal Academy in Amsterdam. Then, after meeting her future husband - because of his plane not leaving in bad weather - she got married in september 1958 to Nils Tellander, to whom she owes a lot. On the photo she is 33 years old, having been born in january 1936. Now it is clear, that from working hard, creating will-power, infinite patience and an interest in other people, it keeps a person young. Happily married to a man who knew about art - being a well-to-do medieval Art collector - the artist got a chance to also devote her life to art, but it meant spending 8 hours daily at a painting easel with a canvas, a motive and a subject. This way of working as an artist painter means concentration, know-how about a lot of technical assets such as painting mediums, fab- rics of canvas and in particular the choice of the respective paints and painting materials, the quality of home-made oil paint, the use of lead white in underlying layers of paint, the fight against paint layers who start aging or cracking, or darkening and the hard les- sons of becoming gradually in line with a difficult medium, known to have the ability to go in many directions. And even with the right teachers or masters, it is even then almost impossible to succeed.
