Looking at the photo attached, upon entering from the station gates after tapping in. The signage that indicate the down riding escalator is small and located far away from the vantage point of the station fare gates. I hope there is a nearer signage with coloured paper that could be changeable to indicate when the escalator is down riding or up riding – See photo attached. It seems minute, but let me present a possible business case. 2 minutes spent per person in searching for the right platform after entering the fare gate over the lifespan of the Train Station and/or Singapore -> What would that productivity hours be multiplied by the average minimum wage? Millions to Billions of Dollars? Instead of hiring expensive analysts and professors to justify this, why not incur a one-time cost for one signage (see photo) or of other design? Imagine $2,000 signage installed versus Millions of dollars of productivity hours for the nation? Consider how you could justify this cost to benefit ratio in significantly increasing your salary increments and bonuses as credit from starting a new project. 4 January 2016 Land Transport Authority Corporate Headquarters 1 Hampshire Road, Singapore 219428 Attention: Mr Chew Men Leong Chief Executive Officer SBS Transit Ltd, 205 Braddell Road, Singapore 579701 Attention: Mr Wong Chin Huat, David - Service Quality Committee SMRT Headquarters Building 251, North Bridge Road Singapore 179102 Attention: Mr Desmond Kuek Bak Chye - President and Group Chief Executive Officer REACH Singapore 140 Hill Street, #01-01A, Old Hill Street Police Station, Singapore 179369 Attention: Chief Executive Officer RE: How could a few arrow stickers spaced apart on the floor direct customers to the right escalator to max nation's productivity Dear Mr Leong, Mr Wong and Mr Kuek At Clarke Quay MRT Train Station, there wasn’t any clear signage to help direct passengers to the platform quickly/efficiently.
