Legal description is Kaladar Township, Lot 24,25 Concession 6, MDI# MDI31C11NE00010. According to the Ministry of Northern Development & Mines, 480 ounces of gold were produced from this mine, unknown tonnage and grade (Comments 08/11/2006). According to www.mindat.org, the mine was discovered in 1881 and operated intermittently from 1887 to 1939. Operations include several pits, a 24m shaft, a 160m inclined shaft with a winze sunk to 236m plus 3.2 km of lateral work conducted underground. Most if not all the lateral work is flooded with water which was one of the biggest problems - pumping all the water out of the mine. A 10 stamp milling machine, a diesel shop and living quarters for the workmen were erected but none of the complete buildings remain today - only a few foundations.
