The giant pines were leveled by the hurricane of Sept.1938, but later the area was replanted. "Near the Four Corners, the photograph shows the wood as it appeared to those who drove around the Five Mile Square....This wood was bought in 1886 by the late Mary B. Dinsmoor and others, and afterward deeded in trust to the City of Keene."
