This interesting photo was taken when the streets were still gravel - this will help determine the photo's date.
However, this photo is reversed. It is looking south from the hill overlooking the current firehall, but it is turned 180°. The description below is accurate, with the exception that the church is really on the left or east side of the road.
The viewpoint is from the hill where the current Municipal Garage and Firehall is today. The church with steeple on the right is St. Paul's Lutheran Church built in 1886.
