To mark the closure of the garage the last two vehicles to enter at the end of their day were a retro liveried Dennis Trident and a state of the art Stagecoach Gold Scania Enviro 400. The new Gold service will be launched in November. These luxury vehicles feature free Wi-Fi, high back leather seats, gangway lights and tinted windows. Bus travel has come a long in the 90 years since Ribble acquired the premisis. Eaves Lane bus garage was opened just over 105 years ago in March 1910 by Parsons Motor Services. Parsons was purchases by the Chorley Auto Company Ltd in 1921. In 1925 the business was acquired by Ribble Motor Services of Preston. Over time the garage had several extensions. Ribble saw many changes of ownership over the years, becoming part of the BET Federation to The National Bus Company and back to private ownership. Finally in 1989 Ribble became part of the Stagecoach Group. The name Ribble still remained for many years after acqisition. Many local people still refer to the building as the Ribble garage. Stagecoach recognises the long association with Ribble. The bus on the right was repainted in the original Ribble livery by Stagecoach. From today the 125 double decker fleet will operate from a new facility at Cowling.
