On 12th July 1927 the Chorley Corpoation Gas Committee recommended the approval of the purchase of a Chevrolet van from Messrs. Hughlock and Hindle. The size and price of the van wasn't disclosed but to give some sort of idea of the prices in the 1920s the article lists another purchase.
